Obituary for James R. Shesko

SHESKO - James R., 74, Boswell, loving husband and father of 3 boys, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh on October 3, 2021. Born March 25, 1947 in Johnstown. Son of the late Nicholas and Florence (Sopich) Shesko. Survived by wife of 45 years, Denise D. (Miller) Shesko; son, Brian Shesko married to Dayna (Toy) and their children Ellisyn, Arden, and Vera, Lynchburg, VA; son, Christopher Shesko and friend Elizabeth Stern and her son, Gavin, Boswell; son, Nicholas Shesko, Pittsburgh; sister, Linda Shesko Mauzy, and her friend Sam Pollock; nephew Erik Mauzy and his wife Mary Rebecca and their children Lyla and Jackson; nephew, Darin Mauzy and wife Tarah and their children Caiden, Kyler, Oliva, and Matalyn and brothers-in-law, David Miller and his wife Theresa and Gary Mauzy. Jim was a 1965 graduate of Jenner-Boswell High School where he served as class president. He was a graduate of Ivy School of Art in Pittsburgh. He was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War as a yeoman seaman where he earned a National Defense Service Medal. Jim then received his Vocational Education Certification through the University of Pittsburgh and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was employed by the Somerset County Vo-Tech as an instructor for 28 years and taught auto body to countless students. He was a faithful attendee of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Somerset where he served as a deacon. A member of Boswell Post 461 American Legion and Jerome Polish Falcons. Jim loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a gifted artist and used his many talents in turning a stone barn into a home. He also enjoyed restoring cars and was an avid auto racing fan. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Friday at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Somerset. Viewing also from 10AM until time of service 11AM Saturday at the church with Pastor Michael A. Dunlap presiding. Military honors by Somerset County Honor Guard.
