JOHNSON – Irene H. (Berkheimer), 88, formerly of Jenner Township, passed away peacefully December 29, 2020 at Country Manor, Jerome, where she has been residing for the last two and a half years. Born April 5, 1932 in Cresson. Daughter of Charles and Alfreda (Drennan) Berkheimer. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 69 years Ellis W. “Mooney” Johnson; son Kevin Johnson; brothers Merle, Harold, and Victor Berkheimer and sister Dorothy Wagner. She is survived by her son Terry Johnson; daughter Tammy (Johnson) Rice and husband Stoney; grandchildren Kelsey (Rice) Colosimo and husband Bill and Brantley Rice; great grandchildren Will and Hallie Colosimo and sister Olive Sarneski. Irene was a member of Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, Jennerstown. Former employee of Conzatti’s Market and Restaurant. She enjoyed spending time cooking and baking for those she loved most. In her spare time, she loved being outdoors tending to her garden and “posies”. Irene was quick-witted and had a vibrant sense of humor that kept her family entertained. She was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for everyone around her. She found recent pride in becoming a “GG” to her great grandchildren, whom she adored beyond words. Irene will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. Due to Covid-19, a private viewing and service will be held. Interment Mt. Zion Cemetery.
