ZAMBANINI – Gloria Jean (Janakovic), 80, Jerome, passed away unexpectedly June 30, 2023 at her home. Born April 12, 1943 in Johnstown, the daughter of Anthony and Catherine (Makar) Janakovic. Preceded in death by parents and husband of 56 years, Samuel F. Zambanini, Sr. on June 28, 2018. Survived by children, Samuel, Jr. married to Valerie (Barrett) of Hollsopple, Gina married to Daniel Jones of Export, Marina married to Brian Himmelberger of Sterling, VA and Anthony married to Sheri (Horner) of Jerome; and “Noni” to grandchildren, Arek & Mayra, Kayla, Nicole & Bob, Ali & Alec, Keith & Liz, Natalie, Kyle & Emily, Daniel & Erin, Kylie & Nick, Narissa, Maggie & Gabe and Kayce; great-grandchildren, Arian, Landon, Sophia, Audri, Alahna, Mera, Cooper, Alma, Cameron, Lily and Logan and baby boy Carroll on the way, her dear sister, Toni Marie married to Greg Aumann of Rochester, NY and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Gloria was a 1961 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School. She held various jobs over the years, with one of her favorites being working at Jerome Elementary School. Member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Hollsopple, Jerome Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Jerome Nest 556 Polish Falcons of America and Ferndale Sportsmen. She enjoyed watching daily mass & saying the rosary, gardening, cooking-especially haluski, dancing, traveling, playing bingo and keeping a record of local deaths published in the newspaper. She especially treasured time with family and friends and always enjoyed hosting holiday and family gatherings at her home, the hub of the Zambanini family! She will be forever missed and we take great comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved, Sam. Friends received 5-8PM Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville where a Vigil for the Deceased will be held 5:30PM Thursday. Funeral Mass 11AM Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Karl Kolodziejski, celebrant and Deacon Jack Orlandi assisting. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery, Jerome.
