SHAULIS - Gloria Justine (Saponsky), 78, Niles, OH, formerly of Boswell, died May 30, 2022 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, OH. Born June 18, 1943 in Boswell. Daughter of John J. and Catherine (Zahar) Saponsky. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Harold E. Shaulis, who died Dec. 24, 2019 and sister, Deanna Saponsky. Survived by two daughters, Debora Flora (Mark) of Youngstown, OH, and Lorri Shaulis (Rick Powell) of Warren, OH; three grandchildren, Kayla Powell of Columbus, OH; Matthew Powell of Warren and Christopher Flora of Youngstown; her twin brother, John J. Saponsky Jr. (Sally Ann) of Harrisburg, PA; two sisters-in-law, Carol Miller (Glenn) and Shelby Defibaugh (Don), both of Somerset; brother-in-law, Kenneth Shaulis (Arlene) of Alexandria, VA; three nieces; six nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Gloria graduated from J.B.J. Joint High School, Boswell in 1961. She married Harold Shaulis on May 2, 1964, and they moved to Niles, OH in 1965. After her daughters entered elementary school, she worked in many retail and service settings, including Strouss’ Department Store (now Macy’s) in Niles, Herman & Son Dry Cleaner in Warren, Hutton’s Florist Shop of Cortland and Creekside Gardens in Howland Township. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles. She and her husband were actively involved in caring for their grandchildren, from their births and throughout their educational and athletic activities. She enjoyed gardening, floral arranging and watching TV cooking shows. Viewing from 9:30AM to 10:30AM Saturday, June 4 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell.
