SMITH – Glenn R., 95, Johnstown, formerly of Menoher Heights, died January 27, 2020 at Richland Woods. Born June 24, 1924 in Conemaugh. Son of Thomas E. and Bertha (Alwine) Smith. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 72 years Betty J. (Horner) Smith on November 29, 2017; brothers Clarence and Ephram and sisters Lois and Leslie Smith and Evelyn Mosholder. Survived by children Thomas and wife Kathy, Coker Creek, TN; Phyllis Santa, Bozman, MT; Ken, Hume, VA; Bob and wife Christine, Dowagiac, MI and Ray and partner Melissa Stehley, Johnstown; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and brother Donald Smith, Johnstown. A 1942 graduate of Johnstown High School. A U.S. Army veteran. Retired Conductor for Conemaugh and Blacklick Railroad with 35 years of service. Lifetime member of Centennial United Methodist Church where he was a Trustee. Glenn enjoyed reading and woodworking. He and his wife Betty also enjoyed traveling in their motor home throughout all 50 states, including two trips to Alaska. They also liked to go camping, fishing and rock hounding. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville where a service will be held 11AM Saturday with Pastor David B. Bowman presiding.
