DEIST – George F., 85, formerly of Sipesville, died March 12, 2022 at Siemon’s Lakeview Manor, Somerset. Born January 15, 1937 in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County. Son of John and Frances (Janeczek) Deist. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 61 years, Clara L. “Sue” (Russell) Deist on November 4, 2019; brothers, John, Bill, Bob and Glen and sisters, Dorothy, Trudy and Helen. Survived by daughters, Cindy married to Kenneth Merrill, Gray and Christine married to Ronald Infantino, Punxsutawney; grandchildren Ken Merrill, Jr. and Crystal Abell; great-grandchildren Madison, Conner and Chloe and sister, Peggy Hayes. George was a former member of Christ Casebeer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Somerset. Retired employee of Armour Meats, Johnstown and owned and operated G & S Lawn and Garden. He loved camping, being outdoors, spending time with his family and working on tractors.
