KIMMEL - Gary L., 68, of Stoystown, passed away January 3, 2022 at UPMC Somerset Hospital. Born March 14, 1953 in Johnstown. Son of the late Irvin D. and Marion P. (Wilson) Kimmel. Survived wife of 15 years, Kathleen M. “Kathy” (Garlena) Kimmel; children, Misty married to Eric Keller of Windber, Richard Govier of Meyersdale and Kristen Kimmel of Windber; grandchildren, Savannah, Kristen, Haylee and husband Dylan, Tyler and Noah; great-grandson Weston; Gary was a father figure to Ryan, Jamie (deceased) and Samantha; sister, Sylvia Kimmel of Stoystown; brothers, Denny Kimmel and wife Cathy of Johnstown and Larry Kimmel and wife Sally of Johnstown and numerous extended family members. Gary was a former employee of Lichtenfel’s Nursery, Johnstown America Corp. and Mlaker’s Bussing Company. He was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything. He also enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, shooting pool, playing poker, hiking and rock climbing and especially spending time with his family. A member of Emmanuel Church, Johnstown and the Tire Hill VFW. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville where a service will be held 11AM Saturday with Pastor Luke Breeze presiding.
