STERN - Emily B. (Livingston), 86, formerly of Hollsopple, passed away March 16, 2024 at Laurel View Village in Davidsville. Born August 28, 1937 in Somerset the daughter of Alonzo and Anne (Witt) Livingston. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Ken Livingston and sisters, Erma Jacobs, Dorothy Durst and Shirley Taylor. Survived by beloved husband of 65 years, Marlin Stern and their four children, Jacquelyn Benson and husband Bryan, Sherri Snyder and husband Jim, Mike Stern and wife Jill and Wendy Denney and husband Michael; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several stepchildren; sister, Madelyn Apgar and brothers, Don and Gene Livingston. Emily was a 1956 graduate of J.B.J. Joint High School in Boswell and went on to attend Bob Jones University in South Carolina, majoring in Administrative Services. She was a dedicated member of the Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle in Jennerstown where she taught Sunday school and Bible school for over fifty years. An unwavering and perpetual prayer warrior, Emily’s faith in God remained constant throughout her life. In addition to being wife and mother, Emily was employed as a switchboard operator, executive administrator for an insurance company, and later as a bank teller. A viewing will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 11AM until the time of service at 1PM at Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle in Jennerstown with Pastor Gary Anderson and Emily’s son, Mike Stern presiding.
