Obituary for Edward J. Ridilla

RIDILLA – Edward J., 92, of Acosta, passed away January 8, 2022 at his home. Born July 7, 1929 in Acosta. Son of Andy and Elizabeth (Tims) Ridilla. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 64 years, Dorothy “Dot” (Conahan) Ridilla on April 25, 2015; brothers, Steven and wife Estella, John and wife Hilda and Andy and wife Lillian. Survived by children, Michael E., married to Karen (Eller), Boswell; Marc B., married to Paula (Lesko), Boswell; Jeffrey N., married to Tammy (Jandrew), Boswell; and Deborah A. Ridilla, Acosta; grandchildren, Valerie and husband Dave, Adam and companion Dakota, Erin and husband John, Pepper and companion Sam, Jason and wife Krystal, Bryan and wife Ashley and Trevor and companion Casey; great-grandchildren, Maggie Mae, Rayne, Lilly Ann, Arden and Penelope and best hunting buddies, brother-in-law Wayne Querry and nephew John Ridilla. Ed was a graduate of Somerset High School and a professional PA Land Surveyor for over 50 years. A member of former St. John Roman Catholic Church in Acosta, Somerset County Oldtimers Baseball Association and Jenner Rod & Gun Club. He loved the game of baseball which he coached for many years and was inducted into the Somerset County Baseball Hall of Fame. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with his family and treasured the visits from his grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Windber Hospice for all their compassionate care.
