MATKOSKEY – David A., 64, Acosta, died August 2, 2023 at Somerset Hospital. Born May 15, 1959 in Somerset. Son of John S., Sr. and Faye E. (Gettings) Matkoskey. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Virginia “Jenny” (Koba) Matkoskey and brothers, Johnny and Nick Matkoskey. Survived by daughters, Christina, married to Kenny Keepes and Danielle Matkoskey; grandchildren, Henry and Evelyn; sisters, Judy Holiday, Peggy Wilkins, Pam married to Brian Costea and Tina married to Jeff Shaffer; brother, George Matkoskey; in-laws, Randy Koba and wife Lori, Patty Joyner, Rosemary “Red” Bellinder, Annie Matkoskey and Kasey Waite and many nieces, nephews and beloved pets. Dave was a graduate of North Star High School and worked as a coal miner for Solar Fuel as well as a Maintenance Supervisor at Hidden Valley. He was an accomplished woodworker, remarkable mechanic, avid biker, uncanny pet whisperer, and most of all a dedicated husband, father, and pappy. He possessed endless patience, selfless and enduring kindness, and when he spoke, everyone listened. Viewing from 4-7PM Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell.
