VARGO – Blanche E. (Simpson), 96, long time resident of Hyasota, died January 13, 2021 at Arbutus Park Manor, Richland. Born September 28, 1924 in Windber. Daughter of Leroy and Mary Elizabeth (Lindenberg) Simpson. Preceded in death by parents; brothers Robert, Charles and Roy Simpson and sisters Grace Ling, Margaret Bash, Ruth Vargo, Betty Christina, Genevieve Eury and Alice Litterine. Survived by her husband of 73 years, Andrew P. “Andy” Vargo; 3 children, Andrew and his wife Donna, Gary and his wife Debbie and Lynn and her boyfriend Jimmy Joyce; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Eva Miller and numerous nieces and nephews. Blanche was a homemaker all her life and a care giver to many family members. She was artistic and enjoyed various crafts and was an excellent cook and baker. She had so many memorable recipes and was famous for her nut rolls, which were always in high demand during the holidays. She was sweet and kind and had an infectious smile and laugh that will always be remembered. Due to current public gathering restrictions, a private viewing will be held.
