Zablotny – Betty O. (Rice) 92, Boswell, died January 1, 2021 at her daughter Diane’s home. Born October 13, 1928 in Boswell. Daughter of Jacob and Josephine (Smith) Rice. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 66 years, Joseph, April 16, 2016; son, Joseph J., May 17,1983; 1 infant sister , 4 infant brothers; brother John ; sisters Janet Craig and Sandra Walter and son-in-law, Chuck Pugh . Survived by daughters, Diane Pugh, Champion and Cheryl ,married to Mike Friedline, Friedens; special, caring and loving granddaughter, LaDawn, married to Doug Yesho, New Alexander ; sister Gloria “Gan” Pope, Fishertown and special nieces and nephews . Member of New Life Church of the Nazarene. Past employee of former Dorfman and Hoffman Garment Factories and North Star Schools. Betty liked to sew, cook and play wordsearch puzzles. She was an avid walker who loved being active. She most enjoyed being with her family and always made memorable dinners. Sunday visits with her sister, Gan and holidays were special. Betty shared a heartfelt bond with her sister-in-law, Julia Fisher. They spent countless times together, including sharing Polish traditions .Due to Covid restrictions, a private viewing and service will be held, Pastor Arlene Morris officiating. Interment Jenner Crossroads Cemetery . A greatful thank you to Heartland Hospice for their love and care, especially nurse Andy , aide Ashley and their staff.
