Obituary for Betty I. Holsopple

HOLSOPPLE – Betty I. (Boyts), 79, Hollsopple, went to be with the Lord September 27, 2022 at Windber Hospice surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 2, 1943 in Hooversville. Daughter of Grant Shaffer and Goldie (Yoder) Boyts-Shaffer. Preceded in death by parents; infant grandson, Steven M. Leverknight; infant great-grandchildren, Matthew and Allison Graffius; brother, Richard Boyts and sister, Nancy Singer. Survived by husband of 60 years, Leon G. Holsopple; children, Deborah Holsopple, Pamela Janik and special friend Willis Weaver III and Sandra married to Kevin Kolesar; grandchildren, Amanda (Janik) Graffius and special friend Melvin Harr, Carrie (Leverknight) married to Shay MacDonald, Alisha Janik and special friend Navin Mullick; great-grandchildren, Shyanna and Wyatt Graffius, Pepper and Olive MacDonald and Zoey Mullick; brother, Ray Shaffer and wife Pat and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Betty was a 1962 graduate of Shade High School. Retired employee of K-Mart Department Store with 31 years of service. A member of Blough Mennonite Church in Hollsopple where she cleaned the church and decorated for holidays. Also a volunteer for St. Francis Sharing & Caring of Hollsopple. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing yardwork and gardening. The family would like to thank Windber Hospice for their compassionate care given to Betty. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Viewing also from 10AM until time of service 11AM Friday at Blough Mennonite Church with Pastor Eric C. Lasure presiding. Interment Blough Mennonite Cemetery.
