SMITH – Betty J. (Horner), 90, Johnstown, formerly of Menoher Heights, died November 29, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Born January 11, 1927 in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County. Daughter of Harry L. and Elvera (Berkey) Horner. Preceded in death by parents, brothers Duane, Donald and James and sister Doris Horner. Survived by husband of 72 years Glenn R. Smith; children Thomas and wife Kathy, Coker Creek, TN; Phyllis Santa, Colorado Springs, CO; Ken, Hume, VA; Bob and wife Christine, Dowagiac, MI and Ray and partner Melissa Stehley, Johnstown; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and brothers Jack married to Joyce (Hershberger) Horner, Hollsopple and Thomas married to Celine (Hoffman) Horner, Thomas Mills. A 1944 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School and a graduate of Cambria-Rowe Business College. Former Unit Manager for Stanley Home Products where she earned numerous awards. Former Licensed Real Estate Agent for Slagle & Cowie Real Estate, Johnstown. Lifetime member of Centennial United Methodist Church where she was an active member of the choir and the United Methodist Women. She and Glenn enjoyed traveling in their motor home throughout all 50 states, including two trips to Alaska. They also liked to go camping, fishing and rock hounding. Betty enjoyed quilting, baking, gardening, tole painting and crossword puzzles. She adored her family, all of whom she was very proud. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville where a service will be held 11AM Monday with Pastor David B. Bowman presiding.
