Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Avey; grandson, Casey Zellem; and first wife, Roberta. Survived by wife of 40 years, the former Carol M. Tressler; children, Denise, and husband, Mike; George J. Jr., and wife, Cathi; Lisa; Doug, and wife, Lynn; Dennis; and David, and wife, Jennifer; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Jane Thomas and Patricia Bihary. Member of Jennerstown United Methodist Church. Retired project manager for several construction companies.
