Branson A.  Williams
WILLIAMS – Branson A., 74, Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, died April 17, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Sept. 17, 1940, in Punxsutawney, son of the late Lloyd G. and Lucille (Worrell) Williams. Survived by wife of almost 50 years, former Carole L. Shaffer; children, Jennifer Speck, and companion, Michael Gaffney III, Dillsburg; Diane, married to Russel Carpenter, Santa Clara, Calif.; and Sgt. 1st Class Geoffrey, U.S. Army, married to Dr. Jodie Jawor, Hattiesburg, Miss.; and grandchildren, Warren and Wesley Speck and Alec Carpenter. He was a graduate of Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh, (now Carnegie Mellon University) with a degree in electrical engineering. Member of St. David Evangelical Lutheran Church, Davidsville, where he was very active and was a past council member. Also a member of Johnstown Lodge 175 BPO Elks and Somerset County Military Family Support Group. He was very active with Habitat For Humanity. Retired employee of Penelec having worked from 1962 to 1995 and retired as manager of systems operations. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. David’s Church, the Rev. N. Gregory Van Dyke, officiating. Interment, Old Ebenezer Cemetery, near Punxsutawney. Memorials to Somerset County Military Family Support Group, Box 888, Somerset, Pa. 15501, or St. David's Lutheran Church, PO Box 427, Davidsville, PA 15928 would be appreciated.
