WOY – Mary Ruth “Honey” (Maurer), 87, Jennerstown, passed away peacefully April 17, 2022 at her home. Born September 25, 1934 in Johnstown. Daughter of B.J. “Slim” and Ruth (Gaffney) Maurer. Preceded in death by parents; infant son, Walter and brother, B.J. Maurer and his wife Betty Ann. Survived by husband of 67 years, Dwight W. Woy; children, Linda married to Randy Musser, Stoystown; David Woy and wife Theresa, Somerset; Timothy Woy and wife Vickie, Boswell; Patricia Sigmund, Friedens; Carolyn Piell, Somerset; Barbara married to Tim Burns, Jennerstown and Mary Woy, Somerset; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Honey was a 1952 graduate of JBJ Joint High School, Boswell. In 1982 she received her LPN degree from Somerset Vo-Tech School of Nursing. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish, Boswell and Somerset Garden Club and former member of Somerset Wheelers & Dealers. Honey enjoyed gardening and spending winters in Florida and summers at Lake Stonycreek with family and friends. She was also a volunteer for Somerset County Meals on Wheels. The family would like to thank Karen Renner and Pro Medica Hospice for all the compassionate care given to Honey.
