Obituary for Patricia Joyce Stewart

STEWART – Patricia Joyce, 63, passed peacefully in her Upper West Side, New York City co-op apartment on August 17, 2016. Born August 10, 1953 in Johnstown. Patricia, also known as Patti, was preceded in death by her father, John Frederick Stewart, Sr.; her mother, Frieda Mae (Bryant) Stewart; and her brother John Frederick Stewart, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Frieda Suzanne (Stewart) married to Joseph Jenniches, sister-in-law Janice (Stewart) McGreehan and nephew John Ross Stewart. A graduate of Penn State University with a BS in Journalism. She worked for the Philadelphia Bulletin for two years following graduation and then was hired by the New York Times as an Editor for the Foreign Desk and National Desk. Patti retired after a 36 year career at the New York Times. She enjoyed working for the Times and living in Manhattan with all the culture it has to offer such as museums, galleries, restaurants and concerts. A memorial service will be held later this fall at the family home on Pender Road in Davidsville. Inurnment Kaufman Cemetery, Davidsville.
