Obituary for Paul A. Shaulis Sr.

SHAULIS – Paul A. Sr., 83, Davidsville, died May 19, 2015, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born Sept. 20, 1931, in Friedens, son of Ira D. and Ursula (Naugle) Shaulis. Preceded in death by parents; infant brother, Robert; sister, Evelyn Gilbert; and brothers, Edward, Kenneth and Warren. Survived by wife of almost 63 years, the former Anna Manges; children, Roger, married to Karen Shoff, Hollsopple; Paul Jr., married to Janet Dudash, Johnstown; David, married to Cyndi Pritts; and Susan, married to Charles Yoder, both of Hollsopple; and Nancy, married to Christopher Thomas, Richland; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sisters, Elsie Zinovenko, Dorothy Shaulis and Jane Snyder, all of Stoystown. Paul was a 1949 graduate of the former Quemahoning-Stoystown High School, where he lettered in basketball. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Member of Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle. He was a retired manager for the Sanitary Dairy. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Gary W. Anderson, officiating. Interment, Blough Mennonite Cemetery, with graveside military rites accorded by Somerset County Honor Guard.
